Hate Sites
While doing a project on hate sites and pro sites there where many questions I had to ask myself. The first was can these hate sites be considered to be encouraged because of our rights of free speech. These hates site are expressing their right of freedom of speech but at the cost of a person or business. There were more hate sites than sites supporting them. The project asked to find a hate site and then find a pro site opposing the hate site. There is no reason why there are more hate sites on the Internet than sites informing or supporting people. There can be debates about the reasoning and purpose of these site but the question is; Can these sites be constituted to be an expression of free speech?

The First Amendment Rights
The constitution in most cases is very hard to get changed but was created in the instantance that if the government needed to. The first amendments were created to protect the rights of the citizens. There are many new amendments that should be made to the constitution that just isn't getting approved. The government fears that if the constitution is changed through the process of amendments by the time it is will go into effect it will be too late or irrelevant to the current time changes. For example, if the Internet becomes obsolete if cyberspace freedom of speech amendment was too be approved it may be useless to that current point and time. In all actuality a chance to the constitution would be useful in all events because it's almost definite that the world of cyberspace will be around for a while. If you where a senator word you consider to amend the Constitution to reflect the technical revolution's inventions?

Radiohead's Album Releasing on the Internet
When Radiohead informed the public that their album would be releasing on the Internet instead of regular record stores their record label became furious, especially when they found out that their fans are going to be able to choose the price they pay. With the record labels and producers realizing that they are not going to be collecting distribution charges or royalties if they every choose to re-release their album, they can be considered to be going off the top. Record labels collect most of their money from the publishing and distribution while the artist doesn't make anything. With the recorded sales they have been reported to have sold 1.2 million copies, if each fan pays 10 cent they make over 12 million without having to give a big cut to their label. Do you think this is a new concept that more artist should start trying?

GOF: Chapter 5 Freedom of Speech
The freedom of speech has always been very important to people, especially in the United States. We have rights protecting our freedom of speech as US citizens. The creation and the development of the Internet has made the US a more diverse and opinionated country. The thought that the government in other countries are censoring what their citizens are doing on the Internet is a outrage to US citizens. Although there are somethings on the Internet that sound be censored for the use of children and some educational facilities should be decided by the parents or the owner. Would the Internet as useful as it is now if the government had the power to censor whatever they thought was wrong?

Chapter 6: GOF
There has always been copyright laws ever since the beginning when books started being published. After the technological revolution, and the invention of programs, CDs, DVDs and CD-Roms copyrighting laws have been more widely used for these creations. The internet and new hardware such as CD and DVD burners, and digital and satellite services allow subscribers to record television shows without needing and where to store it other than their service box. The biggest copyright case over the internet was the case dealing with napster and its illegal use of downloading free music for artist and producers. While this was in the new did anyone ever think of being in the wrong or discontinued use? Are people still “stealing” music, movies, videos, and other copyrighted entertainment ?
